About Us

Hey, we're Raise The Bar, two middle school music nerds turned alternative rock band. The name came from the fact that we originally had roots in calmer, jazzier music that you would find at a bar. But now, we try to defy genres, AKA Raise The Bar.

We make music together that can be found on YouTube, SoundCloud, and this here website. Here's the story of how our band really came to be:

Our real names are Reva and Samara, and we've been friends since sixth grade when this band was born. After realizing that we both wanted more than to play the music that was given to us, we set up this website and started posting covers of music online.

And the rest was history.

Reva

Reva is one half of the band Raise The Bar. She has been playing the piano since she was five, and the drums since she was ten.

It wasn't long after the founding of Raise The Bar when Reva began to write her own music.

Inspired by her favorite bands (Coldplay, U2, Green Day, CHVRCHES) she kept a bunch of songs in an old notebook next to her piano.

Apart from being in RTB, Reva is a total music nerd, as well as a nerd when it comes to movies and books.

She owns a crazy sock collection that she wears every day, even if you can't see it.
